Members of the UAPB AFC conducted a fish cleaning sale to raise funds for the club. Roughly 350 lbs of Channel Catfish were cleaned by members for $1.00/lb from 8:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. with five club members.

Kyler Hecke, 2nd year masters student and past president of the UAPB AFS sub-unit, was awarded the Skinner Memorial Award by the national AFS, to assist with travel expenses associated with his attendence of the 146th Annual Meeting of the American Fisheries Society, in Kansas City, MO, August 20-25, 2016.

These are the goals for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Aquaculture/Fisheries Club (AFC). This club incorporates the American Fisheries Society (AFS) Student Sub-unit of the Arkansas Chapter and University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Student Sub-unit of United States Aquaculture Society (USAS).
This club was organized with five goals:

To promote an atmosphere conducive to professional development of aquaculture and fisheries students.

To provide opportunities for members to prepare themselves for employment in the fields of aquaculture and fisheries.

To organize and hold social and volunteer functions for members of the Aquaculture/Fisheries Club.

To promote good relations among the Aquaculture/Fisheries Club, professional aquaculture and fisheries organizations, state and federal aquaculture and natural resource agencies, and public organizations involved in aquaculture and natural resource management.

To promote the wise use of aquaculture and fisheries resources in Arkansas.
